The Faculty Professional Development (PD) Council is a participatory governance council that provides feedback, ideas, agenda items, and support to the Academic Senate in the planning, developing, funding, offering, and evaluating of professional development activities for all faculty members. The Council fulfills the role of ensuring alignment and implementation of a community college flexible calendar program for the professional development and instructional improvement of all faculty, pursuant to Title V, Section 55516 of the California Code of Regulations.
The Faculty Professional Development Council meets bi-weekly during the academic year, determined by the availability of the council members. Email Amberly Chamberlain for current meeting days and times.
The Council is facilitated and chaired by the credit and non-credit Faculty Professional Development Coordinators and provides regular reporting to the Academic Senate, Professional Development Committee, and State Chancellor's Office. If one or both Faculty Professional Development Coordinator(s) position(s) are unfilled, Senate Executive Officers will appoint an interim representative(s) to facilitate and chair the Council.
A Minimum of 8 Faculty Representatives, as defined by the Academic Senate bylaws for Senator representation
